Contract Coding

Coding services has been one of Prospective Payment Specialists' primary services since its inception twenty-one (21) years ago. Our geographic demographic is nationwide, providing us with the opportunity to gain a thorough knowledge of up to date resources for all common payers throughout the country.

PPS can provide its coding and auditing services both onsite at the client location and offsite via remote access. We have experience with remote access log-in for a wide variety of Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and web based applications.

PPS's coding staff includes RHIA, RHIT, CCS, and CPC and higher education degrees, all with a minimum of 10 years' experience before joining us. Each staff member must complete necessary continuing education requirements and maintain their credentials while working with PPS.

Our coding staff can code:

  • Inpatient
  • Outpatient Surgery
  • Emergency Department
  • Observation
  • Outpatient Diagnosis
  • Clinic Services
  • Interventional Radiology
  • Cardiac Catheterization

We experience a low turnover with our employees, which means they bring passion to their projects and also we do not often change coders assigned to our clients. It is common practice for PPS contract coders to assist on short notice, weekends and holidays.

Our staff maintains a 98% accuracy level in the coding performed while adhering to high productivity levels.

All PPS staff members are Peer Reviewed regularly. Only diagnoses and procedures that are clearly and consistently supported by documentation are to be assigned. Policies and procedures maintained by the client are incorporated into all procedure and diagnoses coding selections. In the event of conflicting or ambiguous data in the physician documentation, a query to the physician that adheres to the client's query process will be prepared.

All PPS Coders maintain and constantly enhance their coding and auditing skills to ensure that they are current with coding changes, guidelines and regulations.
